Maternal Childbirth Nurses' Interest Group Continuing Education Support Fund
Deadline: Requests for funding will be considered on a first come first served basis within the January to December budget year
The Maternal Childbirth Nurses' Interest Group (MCNIG) is offering financial support through this fund for nonprofit educational events throughout Ontario. We hope to encourage the development of informal, grassroots-type programs through this fund. This is consistent with our goals to:
• Promote high quality family centered care for childbearing families throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and the postpartum period
• Facilitate communication between nurses caring for childbearing families in all practice settings
• Provide professional development opportunities for nurses caring for childbearing families
We endeavour to stimulate the organization of, and attendance at events and programs that will meet the needs of nurses with respect to issues of importance to their own communities. Examples of such events include: hosting a video night, local speakers, informal networking, and help for individuals to attend conferences (note: individuals who request support for individual conference attendance must demonstrate that they can share the knowledge/information gained at the conference with their local community). The amount dispersed will be at the discretion of the committee. Groups and/or individuals should submit a letter to the Membership Services Officer for consideration. The contact person for the group must be a member of MCNIG.
MCNIG requires that for each event that is funded the group organizing the event must provide:
• Notification to participants of MCNIG support
• Registration for MCNIG and RNAO membership
• Opportunity to set up the MCNIG display
• A summary of the event to be printed in the MCNIG newsletter
** Note: all events that apply for funding must adhere to RNAO and WHO Advertising and Sponsorship policy guidelines to be eligible (see "Guidelines" section of website, or contact: info@rnao.org).
