Telementoring Project

The Teleprimary Care Demonstration Project is a Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care funded Primary Health Care Transition Fund Project.

Under the leadership of NORTH Network, the project brings together eight (8) collaborating parties including:

  • the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO);
  • Nurse Practitioners Association of Ontario (NPAO);
  • Ontario College of Family Physicians (OCFP);
  • NorWest Community Health Centre;
  • West Parry Sound Health Centre
  • Peterborough County City Health Unit;
  • and VON Canada Ontario Branch, Peterborough, Victoria, and Haliburton site.

In partnership with NORTH Network, RNAO is leading the Telementoring component of the project. The Telementoring component of the project provides a mentoring framework and toolkit which:

  • support and enhance professional practice;
  • help to reduce professional isolation; and,
  • assist in professional growth.

To support the telementoring initiative of this project, a Telementoring Tool Kit: A Resource for Nurse Practitioners in Rural and Remote Areas (TMentRKit), has been developed.

The TMentRKit is intended to be a comprehensive telementoring resource guide to support professional development and networking for Nurse Practitioners (NPs) practicing in rural and remote areas.

This is a user-friendly resource, designed to assist you, whether you are a mentor or a mentee, to achieve an effective mentoring or telementoring experience.
