The NRIG promotes the conduct and utilization of nursing research in Ontario through lobbying, funding, educating, collaborating and networking, with the goal to improve the health of people in Ontario.

Our Web site is updated quarterly to inform members of current research issues, conference, publication and funding opportunities. Research resources are developed for nurses and there are minimal start-up funds available for small research projects.

At the NRIG AGM on Saturday April 25, we discussed research funding in Canada. As discussed, The Agenda (TVO) the night before was on this topic. The show "Science in Peril?" features a debate with Mohamed Elbestawi, VP Research and International Affairs, McMaster; Jim Turk, ED of the Canadian Association of University Teachers; Andrew Weaver, a climate scientist at the University of Victori; and Jim woodgett,Director of Research at the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute at Mount Sinai Hospital.
